Ayn: AYN is prayer. A prayer for a writer, an actress, a director, a reader. A prayer that has a fascination for written work by black women. A prayer about black women and for black women. A prayer for black men who are passionate. A prayer for love. Love to write, to analyse, to and tell stories. Our stories! A love for characters and people, identities and histories. A prayer for bringing life. A prayer for creating. A prayer... In the words of my former lecturer Xoli Norman: "When we create as artists we become co-creaters with God himself". I am happy to be a co-creator and hope to continue creating a whole lot more.
